US Warns Russia to Stay Out of Middle East Conflict Amid Rising Tensions

Meanwhile, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has warned Russia not to intervene in the conflict amid rising tensions in the Middle East. He said Russia should stay out of the ongoing confrontation between Iran, the US, and Israel. Hegseth made the statement during a Pentagon press briefing on Tuesday. He was asked about a recent telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Hegseth said the conversation between Trump and Putin was "strong and positive," in which the prospect of peace over the Ukraine war was also discussed. He said the conversation also made clear that Russia should not get involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He said that Russia's relationship with world leaders is "strong," and that the possibility of a Russian-Ukrainian peace talks is also a strong possibility.
