Uterine Fibroids: Common Condition, Not Necessarily Cancerous

The doctor has said that there is a lump in the uterus. Most women get scared on hearing this. The first question that comes to mind is, is it not cancer? Will the uterus have to be removed? Will it be difficult to become a mother now? These questions have been answered by doctors. Doctors have also told about when the lump in the uterus needs an operation and when it is cured with medicines. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), by the age of 50, 70-80% women may develop uterine fibroids at some time, although many of these women never feel any symptoms. This is why this disease often appears suddenly on ultrasound.
