Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Adjourned Early Amidst Ruckus Between Parties

The monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly in the Uttar Pradesh Legislature was adjourned sine die before the scheduled time. Due to the ongoing tussle between the Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs in the House, the proceedings of the House could last barely a few hours. The monsoon session of the UP Legislature, which was to last until 6 August, was adjourned at 1: 25 pm on 5 August. Important legislative business was carried out by the government amidst the ruckus before the adjournment. The report of the Sambhal violence was also tabled by the government in the Assembly amidst the ruckus. Speaker Satish Mahana made an emotional appeal to the MLAs at the beginning of the third day of the Assembly proceedings. However, this appeal did not work and the SP MLAs continued their protest.
