Uttar Pradesh Unveils Global Platform for Traditional Cuisine, Promoting Local Entrepreneurship and Self-Reliance

Inscriptions wear out, buildings fall into disrepair, but taste continues to pass through the hands of generations. Uttar Pradesh has an immense treasure trove of tasty culinary heritage. Banaras ki malaiyon, Lucknow ki chaat, Agra ka petha, Mathura ka peda, Kannauj ka gulab jal, Hathras ki asafoetida, these are living documents of history, not dishes. Till now they were confined to the memories of streets, fairs, and travellers. For the first time, they have been put on the global trade table with full seriousness. By putting'District One-One Cuisine'( ODOC) at the centre of the UP International Trade Show, the Yogi government has given a clear message -'Heritage is not a burden, capital is and tradition is not a sign of backwardness, foundation of self-reliance.'This message is an extension of the big thinking that started with One District One Product (ODOP).
