Vedaant Madhavan Makes Asian Games Debut, Indian Team Misses Out on Final Spot

Indian swimmer Vedaant Madhavan, son of legendary actor R Madhavan, made his Asian Games 2026 debut on Monday. Vedaant represented India in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay, but the Indian team narrowly missed out on a place in the final. The Indian quartet of Sajan Prakash, Dhakshan Sasikumar, Vedaant Madhavan and Anish Sunil clocked 7 minutes 24.32 seconds to finish ninth out of 13 teams. The top eight teams advanced to the final. India missed out on a place in the final by just 0.22 seconds. Thus, Vedaant's Asian Games debut did not end with a medal or a place in the final, but it was an important experience for him at the international senior level.
