Vijay's Political Debut Marred by Accident Involving Police Officer

Tiruchirappalli: The popularity of superstar Vijay, who has started his new innings in Tamil Nadu politics, has hit the streets. On Thursday, thousands of supporters gathered at Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) during a grand roadshow of'Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam'( TVK) chief Vijay, leading to a major accident. Amid reports that a police officer on security duty, Satish, was seriously injured in the ruckus and scuffle, a policeman's scream was heard near Marakkadai junction near Gandhi Market, Trichy, where Vijay was to address his supporters. In the viral video, Satish, a policeman, is seriously injured in his leg and is writhing in pain. Party volunteers standing nearby immediately formed a human chain and carried the injured officer to the nearest ambulance. A police complaint has been filed in this regard. Vijay, a three-way contender in the battle, is contesting the upcoming elections from Perambur and two seats in Trichy (DMDK and DMDK) on Monday.
