Villagers in Kumarganj Turn Against TMC and BJP Governments Over False Promises and Economic Woes

Apoorva Mandal: The Kumarganj ruling party is disillusioned with the false promises of the TMC and the BJP government at the Centre in Kumarganj. Villages after villages are red-flagged. Old and young people are looking for Left Front candidates in their areas. Farmers, farm labourers, construction workers, migrant labourers and villagers are forming alliances in their villages and mohallas in support of CPI (M) candidate Mofazzal Hossain, the Left Front candidate for Kumarganj assembly seat in South Dinajpur. Villagers are saying that the corrupt TMC and religious bigotry have caught up with the BJP. Ninety percent of the people in Kumarganj assembly constituency are agriculturists. The state and central governments have not taken any step to uplift the farm labourers.
