Violence Erupts at Congress Office Over Alleged Ticket Sale Scandal

Dissatisfaction with the candidate. Blood was spilled at the Pradesh Congress office. Some Congress workers protested with the Congress candidate for the Ballygunge assembly constituency at the Vidhan Bhawan. They alleged that the state president, Subhankar Sarkar, had sold the ticket for money. The Congress candidate for the Ballygunge assembly constituency was Rohan Mitra, son of the late Somen Mitra. Congress workers in the area refused to accept him as a candidate. A section of Congress workers alleged that they were protesting peacefully. They were suddenly attacked. One person reportedly suffered a fractured head.
