Violence Erupts in Andhra Pradesh During Local Body Elections

Andhra Pradesh witnessed violence at several places on Thursday (October 22) during nominations for local body elections. Car was set on fire during the violence. Workers of the ruling Telugu Desam Party and the opposition YSR Congress clashed. Both sides pelted stones at each other and indulged in vandalism. YSR accused the TDP after the violence. While the TDP took a jibe at YSR. YSR wrote on X, "During the local body elections in Andhra Pradesh, TDP goons have murdered democracy. They went on a rampage. TDP goons have committed a heinous act, they pulled the saris of YSRCP women candidates at the nomination centres. They also assaulted a nine-month pregnant woman, and tore her nomination papers."
