The counting of votes for the Bar Council of Gujarat elections has begun in Ahmedabad. The process is being carried out in the auditorium located at the Gujarat High Court. The election was held for the new body of 23 members of the state, in which more than 76 thousand lawyers voted. A total of 99 candidates were in the fray for 23 seats, out of which 79 are male and 20 are female. Out of 23 seats, 5 seats were reserved for female candidates. The average voter turnout in the state was 52 percent. The counting is being carried out amid tight security and police security. New representatives can be appointed for the next 5 years.
