Amreli, તા.27: (By Arvind Nirmal) In Amreli district, voters showed enthusiasm in the district and taluka panchayat elections held in the midst of a scorching heat above 44 degrees. The disabled and the elderly were seen standing in long lines to exercise their franchise and celebrate the festival of democracy. The average voter turnout in the Amreli district and 11 taluka panchayat elections was 53%. The police staff and security personnel deployed by the election machinery since seven o'clock in the morning did a great job by creating a peaceful atmosphere. By five o'clock in the evening, 18 seats of the Amreli district panchayat recorded 54.12% voting. Taluka panchayat-wise figures were 16% in Kukavavav-Vadya, 16% in Lathi, 17% in Babara, 22% in Savarkundla, 16% in Leh, 16% in ID3, 16% in Rajsamand, 16% in Bagul, 16% in Khonsa, 16% in Khonsa, 16% in Rajsara.
