Addressing supporters at his party's headquarters in Belgrade on Sunday, Vucic said that initial projections show that his party is losing the election. According to Vucic, the student-backed bloc could gain 135 to 140 seats in the 250-seat parliament, while his party may have to settle for around 105 seats. He also made it clear that final results are still to come. Early projections from the advertising poll survey agencies CESID and IPSOS also indicated a student lead. According to the survey, candidates associated with the student movement could win around 138 seats. Vucic's Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) was projected to win 104 seats. The rest of the seats could go to parties of ethnic minorities. If these projections translate into final results, a new era in Serbian politics could begin. As the initial results of the election came out, a wave of students and their supporters cheered in Belgrade.
