Wanted Criminal Arrested in Encounter with Police in Kaithal

The accused, Sandeep, a resident of Matour, who was wanted in a case of attempt to murder by firing, was injured by the police during the encounter near village Faral. The accused has a bullet injury in his leg. He was carrying a reward of five thousand rupees. The police have recovered an illegal weapon and a cartridge from his possession. A policeman was also hit by a bullet during the encounter. Luckily he was wearing a bulletproof jacket, which saved his life. DSP Sushil Prakash said that the team of Anti Vehicle Theft Staff SI Mukesh Kumar was patrolling in the Pundri area at night. Meanwhile, information was received that the accused, Sandeep, a resident of Matour, who was wanted in a case of attacking a youth by firing in the police station town area, would come towards Pundri from Faral's side. He was also suspected to be carrying an illegal weapon.
