KOLKATA: There has been high voter enthusiasm in this phase of West Bengal assembly elections since morning. According to the data released by the Election Commission, the average voter turnout across the state till 1 pm is 61.11. However, incidents of violence and clashes have also been reported at several places during the polling process, especially in the Bhangar area where workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Indian Secular Front (ISF) clashed. District-wise polling figures: Looking at the district-wise figures till 1 pm, Purba Bardhaman district leads with 66.80 percentage of voting. While Hooghly recorded 64.57 percentage, Nadia recorded 61.41 percentage and Howrah recorded 60.68 percentage of voting. Kolkata North recorded 60.18 percentage and North 24 Parganas recorded 59.20 percentage of voting. South 24 Parganas recorded 58.58 and Kolkata South recorded 57.73 percentage of voting till 11 am. Hooghly and Hooghly recorded 43% voter turnout.
