West Bengal Assembly Members Clash Over 'Scandalous Chapter' Remark

Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay said that in the history of the Assembly and Parliament, several times before, members have been expelled from the House. Therefore, it is not appropriate to call this incident a scandalous chapter. He objected to the use of this word by the Speaker. Then Kunal Ghosh also reached the well of the House and demanded the Speaker to withdraw the scandalous word. During this, some members of his treasury bench, including Ritesh Tiwari, got into a heated argument. Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay also became a part of this controversy. Speaker Rathindra Bose repeated his statement that he had asked Kunal Ghosh to return to his seat many times, but he did not follow the instruction and got involved in a scuffle. That is why he called this incident a scandalous chapter. When Kunal Ghosh demanded to withdraw this word, the Speaker made it clear that he would not withdraw his comment and no discussion on this matter would be held in front of the Speaker for the time being.
