West Bengal By-Election: AUJP Supremo Summoned Over Viral Audio as Party Workers Arrested

Politics seems to be heating up over the Rejinagar by-election in West Bengal. Berhampur police station has summoned Aam Janata Vikas Party (AUJP) supremo and MLA Humayun Kabir in connection with a viral audio. Police reached his Shaktipur residence on Saturday and served a notice to appear at the station on Monday. Shaktipur police have arrested Haider Sheikh, an AUJP worker and Kabir's close aide, before Humayun Kabir could appear at the station. AUJP MLA Humayun Kabir has written a letter to the Election Commission stating that his workers are being illegally arrested in connection with the arrest of AUJP workers and leaders. In a letter written by AUJP to the Election Commission on Sunday (September 20), it was stated that as part of a well-thought-out conspiracy, he was falsely accused of possessing counterfeit notes and weapons and sent to police custody.
