West Bengal Chief Minister Accuses Central Government of Plotting to Divide State

Politics has now heated up in West Bengal over the assembly elections. The state's chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, claimed that the central government wants to trifurcate West Bengal and annex parts of it to Bihar and Odisha. She alleged that Bengalis living there will be harassed by annexing areas of West Bengal to other states. Mamata Banerjee also alleged that central security forces deployed for elections in West Bengal are insulting women in the name of investigation. Mamata Banerjee, who arrived to address election rallies in West Bengal's Bankura district, launched a blistering attack on the central government. She said, "The BJP is planning to bring a delimitation bill to trifurcate West Bengal. It may merge parts of West Bengal with Bihar or Odisha and cause trouble to Bengalis there." West Bengal's chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party has made a deal of one thousand crores to remove the TMC from power in Bengal. In a video that went viral, she allegedly heard Mamata Banerjee saying that the party's general secretary, Humayun Kabir, should be removed from power.
