Kolkata: With the Assembly elections in West Bengal sounding the bugle, there has been a major earthquake in the administration and politics. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has lashed out at the central body. The Election Commission of India (EC) has transferred more than 50 senior IPS and IAS officers of the state in one go. Mamata Banerjee called the action not just an administrative change, but a "political conspiracy" to take over West Bengal છે.ટોચના Officials on the radar: The Election Commission has taken a tough stand and ordered the removal of West Bengal Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, Home Secretary Jagdish Prasad Meena and state DGP Piyush Pandey with immediate effect. In addition, officials of important agencies like IB, STF and CID, including Kolkata Police Commissioner Supratim Sarkar, have also been transferred. The Commission has taken over the reins of election management by assigning new responsibilities to 13 IAS and 5 IPS officers.
