West Bengal Politics Shifts Towards Nationalism with BJP Government

After the change of power in West Bengal, the politics of the state seems to be rapidly moving towards a new direction. In the assembly elections held in April, the people not only changed the government, but also gave a new turn to the political stream of the state. Along with this, the era of Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, which had been in power in the state for 15 consecutive years, ended and a new political system based on nationalism began. On 9 May, Suvendu Adhikari took oath as the Chief Minister and took the leadership of the first BJP government in the state. After this, the government started implementing many major decisions in the administration, law and order, public welfare and governance. For the last about 15 years, Mamata Banerjee remained the center of Bengal politics. Her influence was visible from the new state secretariat to the mohallas, government schemes, puja pandals and local administration. But after the change of power, the political equation changed rapidly and now a new power center has been established in the state under the leadership of the BJP.
