West Bengal to Integrate Ayushman Bharat Scheme with Existing Swasthya Sathi Scheme from June 1

Before coming to power, the central government's health scheme Ayushman Bharat was promised to be launched in Bengal by Suvendu Adhikari. This time the state's Women and Child Welfare Minister Agnimitra Pal made a big announcement. Today, in the Assembly on Thursday, the Women and Child Welfare Minister Agnimitra Pal said, "The Swasthya Sathi scheme will continue as it is now. The Ayushman Bharat scheme will be gradually integrated in the state from June 1. This is because there are different rules and laws. The Ayushman Bharat scheme will be implemented in the state after considering all aspects. If there is a hurry to do anything, the users of this scheme can get into trouble. That is why the Swasthya Sathi scheme will continue. The scheme will be implemented in the state gradually from June 1." Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people of the state the day after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the launch of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in West Bengal. In a social media post on Tuesday, he said that the double engine government of the Center will deliver the benefits of the important schemes to the people.
