Western Countries Impose Trade Embargo on Israeli Goods from West Bank

Britain, France and Canada have banned imports of goods produced by Israeli factories and farms in the West Bank, saying the restrictions threaten the two-nation theory as Israeli expansion in the West Bank has increased. The three-nation ban has been supported by 12 other countries. The US ambassador to Israel has condemned the trade embargo. The Israeli occupation of the Palestinian-majority West Bank is not recognised by the world community. Israel is trying to change the population ratio in the area by building Jewish settlements there. Factories built in these settlements produce some of the goods that are exported. Britain, France and Canada have banned imports of these goods, according to experts. But this sends a message to Israel that it must stop implementing its arbitrary policies. British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband has said that Britain cannot allow Israel to continue to perpetuate long-term injustices and exploitation. It is difficult for Israel to make fresh statements in the West Bank.
