Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the Mahant of Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, has made a big statement about his gold stand. First, Dhirendra Shastri made it clear that his stands were not of gold but of ordinary wood on which golden color was applied. Then Dhirendra Shastri said that if his gold stand was discussed further, he would book a diamond stand next time. Responding to those who called the wooden stand gold, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri said, "People take our word for it. Now the wooden stand has become gold.
