Youth Shot Dead in Bihar's Nalanda Over Refusal to Pay Extortion Money

A youth was shot dead in Bihar's Nalanda. It is alleged that Rs 5,000 was demanded as extortion money from the amount received after selling a cow. Some youths of the village shot dead the truck driver Ranjan Kumar after he refused to give them money. There is tension and anger in the area after the incident. Angry villagers and relatives blocked the road and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. The incident is being reported from Shobha Bigha village of Khudaganj police station area. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ranjan Kumar, son of Amirg Prasad, a resident of the village. According to the family members, Ranjan used to drive a truck outside Bihar and had returned home a few days ago. He had reached the village on Saturday. On Sunday, he had sold his cow in exchange for a good amount of money. The family alleges that some people of the village demanded Rs 5,000 from Ranjan after getting information about the sale of the cow. The accused wanted to drink alcohol from the party. Ranjan shot the accused after he refused to give him the money.
